The Illinois School Library Media Association/Library Book Selection Service will issue its third annual book grants this year. Public and private school libraries as well as public libraries registered in any of the Illinois Readers’ Choice awards programs — the Monarch Award, the Bluestem Award, the Rebecca Caudill Young Readers Book Award, and the Abraham Lincoln Illinois High School Book Award — are eligible to apply.

"Midsummer Knight’s Read" Summer Reading Kickoff is scheduled for Friday, February 11 at Sycamore Public Library, please note the following:

We have scheduled 13 presenters to highlight their programs.  Each will have a table with information about what they have to offer.  Six of them will take the stage to show off just a bit of what they do.  All are coming prepared to schedule your summer programming events, so bring your date books.

Lunch is bring-your-own-brown bag.  There are a couple of fast food restaurants close by if you should forget.  Coffee, tea and water will be provided.

Join your colleagues at the Moline Public Library 9:00 a.m. until noon on February 24, for a time to share resources for summer reading, socialize and have fun.

Ideas for reading logs, games, passive programming, funding ideas, crafts - and food! - are just a few of things to be shared. Bring an item to share to the group. If you have a craft, please bring supplies so that others may try it out. No charge for participating. Coffee, lemonade and a snack will be provided. Please consider bringing food to share, too.

A table will be available just for the Iowa theme, "One World, Many Stories".  So, please bring your Iowa them ideas too - the more ideas the merrier!
