Goodbye PALS. Hello RAILS…

Thank you for your support and encouragement of PALS over the years. All of us at PALS are grateful for the opportunity to serve you, and we cherish all the great memories. On this last day of operations for PALS, you may be wondering: What happens tomorrow, when RAILS launches?

Throughout the past twelve months, as representatives from ALS, DLS, MLS, NSLS and PALS have worked on the merger, maintaining member services has been a top priority. So on RAILS’ first day of operations tomorrow, we will strive to provide the same level of service to which you are accustomed.

TechSoup fiscal year reminder

A reminder from TechSoup (http://www.techsoup.org):

Place donation requests before June 30

Make sure your organization gets all of the hardware or software it needs from TechSoup before our fiscal year ends on June 30, 2011.

Why the rush? Most of TechSoup's donation programs limit the number of requests an organization can place per fiscal year - our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Don't worry, you can request products again on July 1, but you don't want to miss out on getting your fiscal year 2011 allotment.

Database renewals for EBSCO groups

Schools and public libraries that participate in the EBSCO database groups that PALS coordinated need to renew directly with EBSCO this year to continue your access. EBSCO has sent renewal letters to all current participants. Please return your library's signed letter to EBSCO representative Kristie Blomster (fax: 978-356-5640) as soon as possible, so that EBSCO can process the group orders.

If your library is currently part of the PALS EBSCO group for public or school libraries, but you have not received your renewal letter, please contact Kristie immediately, at 800-653-2726 x 2244 or kblomster [at] ebscohost [dot] com.
